Jack Muncher, age 80, of Middleton, departed this life Wednesday morning, September 27, 2017 at his home.
The husband of Korola Schoffel Muncher, who survives, he was retired as an HVAC technician, working for the University of Delaware, retiring in 1991. He was born September 11, 1936 in Polk County, Tennessee, son of the late Charles Jefferson Muncher and Floye Patterson Muncher, and lived in Newark, Delaware prior to moving here in August of 2006. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home for four years and was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Muncher was a member of Porter's Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, whom he married in 1957, survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Mathiesen of Forest Grove, Oregon; a sister, Betty Joe Chastain of Georgia; a brother, Tom Muncher of Arizona; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Charles E., Robert and Terry Wayne Muncher; 3 sisters and 3 brothers. The family requests memorial donations in his name be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate) or Porter's Creek Baptist Church.
