James Celon Babcock

Mr. James Celon Babcock, age 73 of Saulsbury, Tennessee, departed this life Monday morning, December 15, 2014 at Northbrooke Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Jackson.

Mr. Babcock was born in Dansville, New York on Saturday, January 11, 1941 to the late Celon and Isabel Potter Babcock. He served in the United States Army and worked as a truck driver for several years with NAB Transportation. Among his hobbies, he was an avid toy John Deere tractor collector. Prior to moving to Hardeman County two years ago, he lived in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Survivors include three sons, Richard Babcock and wife Carol of Saulsbury, Michael Scott Rogers of Stanton, Kentucky, and James Ray Babcock of Stanton, Kentucky; and a brother, Kenneth Babcock of Greensboro, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Donations made in memory of Mr. Babcock may be sent to the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
