Mr. James "Mack" Cossar, age 88 of Memphis, Tennessee departed this life Thursday evening, February 6, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Cossar was born in Hardeman County August 21, 1925 to the late William Charles and Ivy Pierce Cossar. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 and on May 1, 1946, he was united in marriage to the former Mildred Shearin, who survives. He moved to Memphis in 1952, where he worked for Fruehauf Trailor Company. He also worked as a warehouse manager in the paper products industry. He was a member of Scenic Hills Baptist Church and was an avid farmer and gardener.
In addition to his wife of 67 years, he is survived by two daughters, Charlene Galloway of Germantown and Patricia Creech of Cordova; a son, James Cossar of Memphis; and two grandchildren, Ashley Creech and Jeremy Galloway. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Krystal Cossar.
