James Malcolm Davis I, departed this life on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 6 Months, 14 Days. He was born December 29, 1940 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Taylor and Carrie Lee Inman Davis.
He was united in marriage to Reba Lynn on March 18, 1961 and she preceded him in death on September 26, 2009.
Mr. Malcolm, a retired Warden for the State of Tennesee with the Wayne County Boot Camp, served in the United States Navy from 1957-1962.
He is survived by son, James M. Davis II of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Kimberly Darlene Smith, Waynesboro, TN; step-sons, Roger and Ricky Dixon both of Soddy Daisy, TN, Mark Dixon, Hixon, TN; grandchildren, Ashton, Reanna, Jessica, Jillian, Ezekial, Branston, Jerimiah, Phillip, Lisa, Jeremy, Michael and Matthew; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Davis, Waynesboro, TN, David Davis, New Lennox, IL; sister, Ruth Blalock, Waynesboro, TN; nieces and nephews; special friends, Dennis Davis and Adam Potts.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by daughters, Karen Elsie Keeton and Tina Lynn Smith; grandchildren, Derrick Mathis, Amber Nance and Vanessa Skelton; brother, Phillip Aaron Davis and sister, Mary Ann Davis.
Services will be Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home chapel Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Dave Caron and Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Worley Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 3:30 pm to 9:00 pm and Sunday, July 16th.2017 from 9:00 am until service time the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Scott Davis, Brandon Davis, David Horner, Dakota Davis, Billy McClain and Adam Potts. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Inman, Ethan Skimehorn and Arlie Keeton, Jr.
