Jerry Harris Tatum of Waynesboro, TN was born July 11, 1947 in Hohenwald, TN, a son of the late Granville Howard and Okie Harris Tatum. He was united in marriage to Cynthia Joy Brown on February 13, 1982.
Mr. Tatum received his Master's degree in counseling from the University of North Alabana. He served in the Peace Corps in India for two years, was a former science and chemistry teacher and counselor at Collinwood High School, was former director of special education for Wayne County and was a retired RN in the Maury Regional Medical Center Emergency Department in Columbia, TN. Mr. Tatum was very active in geneology and in researching local history through the Historian's office.
He departed this life on Monday, August 18, 2014 at his home at the age of 67 Years, 1 Month, 7 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Joy Brown Tatum of Waynesboro, TN; step- sons, Carl Moore and Seth Moore both of Murfreesboro, TN; three grandchildren; a brother, Tony Tatum of Waynesboro, TN; a sister, Hilda Frazier Tatum Moore of Leoma, TN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tatum was preceded in death by a brother, Coy Tatum and a sister, Patsy Tatum Churchwell.
At his request, Mr. Tatum's remains will be cremated.
