Jimmy Eldon Winters was born November 7, 1945 in Harrisburg, AR the son of the late Jim and Ora Tibbs Winters.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Ann Martin on July 5, 1969.
Jimmy served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968, serving as sargeant in West Germany. He worked in the trucking business for 34 years. He received his first kidney transplant in 1991 and retired from working in 1994. In 2009, he received his second kidney transplant. He served in the church as a member, a deacon, and Sunday school teacher for several years. He was a member of Essary Springs Baptist Church.
Jimmy departed this life on March 3, 2015 in Ramer, Tennessee at the age of 69 Years, 3 Months, 24 Days. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Ann (Martin) Winters of Ramer, TN; a son, Derrick Gregory Winters of Ramer, TN; three grandchildren, Katherine Grace Winters, Victoria Lauren Winters, Easton James Lee Winters all of Selmer, TN; sister, Daisey Tate and husband W.B. of Wynne, AR; two brothers, Jerry Wayne Winters of League City Texas, David Winters and wife Marsha of Wynne, AR; half-sister, Edna Gaskins and husband Buddy of Harrisburg, AR; sister-in-law, Sissy Winters of Jonesboro, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Winters was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Winters, Clayton Winters; stepbrother, Charles Freeman.
