Jo Ann Hight Curtis

Jo Ann Hight Curtis passed away on July 29, 2014, at the Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.

Jo Ann was born October 21, 1939, in Morris Chapel, Tennessee, the daughter of the late William Henry Hight and Devora Newman Hight.

She married Larry Travis Curtis in Corinth, Mississippi on March 8, 1958, and they have two children, Sabrina Lea Temple of Brentwood, Tennessee and John Frank Curtis of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to the above, Jo Ann is survived by brothers, John Wesley Hight and Paul H. Hight; 4 grandchildren, Nicole Baxter/husband, Brayden and Morgan Cupples/husband, Camron of Savannah, Tennessee, Allison Temple and Winfield Temple of Brentwood, Tennessee; two great-grandchildren, Max Cupples and Kellianne Baxter; daughter-in-law, Kelly Webb Curtis and son-in-law, David Temple and brother-in-law, Ron Curtis of Pensacola, Florida; nephews, Rodney Hight, Jim Curtis, Jonathan Curtis, Tim Hight, Joe Curtis (deceased) and nieces, Reginia Wyatt, Lisa Neill, Debbie Hight, Paula Hight, Pam Holloway, Rachel Beam, Connie Hockaday; sisters-in-law, Jodie H. Curtis, Cheryl Hight, and Melanie L. Curtis.

Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Gean Hight and one brother, Sam Hight; two brothers-in-law, James C. Curtis and Brink Curtis.

Jo Ann was an active member of the East End United Methodist Church serving as a children's Sunday school teacher and serving on numerous committees.

Jo Ann was employed by Hardin County Board of education for 18 years, then 17 years as bookkeeper for Curtis Lumber Company, and 4 years as co-owner of TJ's BBQ.

Jo Ann was totally involved in her family and so much wanted to live to see her great-grandchildren, which she did.

Jo Ann liked traveling and reading, she was a good cook and enjoyed preparing big meals for her family.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Darryl Worley Foundation.
