Jo Evelyn Skelton

Jo Evelyn Bates Skelton of Waynesboro, TN, was born March 3, 1942 in Nashville, TN, the daughter of the late Herman Simpson and Mamie Gladys Brewer Bates. She was united in marriage to Virgil Kirk Skelton on February 6, 1960.

Mrs. Skelton was a retired assembly line worker with Mueller Gas (Lincoln Brass) and was a member of the Eastview Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

Mrs. Skelton departed this life on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 6 Months.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil Kirk Skelton of Waynesboro, TN; sons, Terry Skelton and wife, Carol of Collinwood, TN and Bart Skelton and wife, Jennifer of Fairview, TN; daughters, Celena Spiva and husband, Philip of Clarksville, TN and Monica Wells and husband, John of Columbia, TN; 11 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren; sisters, Maxie Tarkington of St. Charles, MO and Mary Tom Dyer of Nunnley, TN; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Frank Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Skelton Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Skelton, Travis Skelton, John McDonald, Colby McDonald, Tyler McDonald, and Bobby Gene Jones .

Visitation will be Friday, September 6, 2013 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
