John D. Tribble

John D. Tribble

was born near Coffeeville, Mississippi on March 3, 1934 the son of the late Willie and Margaret Effie Martin Tribble.

He was an all star basketball player at Coffeeville High and also played at Northwest College in Senatobia, Mississippi. John was an electrician by trade and was once President of Local 474 in Memphis, Tennessee from 1984 to 1987. He worked all over the United States on many jobs such as wiring the Apollo Missile. He was a man who took pride in doing a good job.

John was a Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner. He drove the Shriner van for many years to transport Shrine patients to and from the hospitals. He was also President of the Pickwick Shrine Club in past years. John was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. He loved his church and church family.

John was united in marriage to the former Rebecca Fesmire Greenway, who survives.

He departed this life on March 5, 2015 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 81 years and 2 days.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Rebecca Fesmire Greenway Tribble, a daughter, Carol Tribble Russell and her husband Dennis, a son, Derrell G. Tribble and his wife Sherry Hollingsworth Tribble, and a step son, Eddie Greenway.

He also leaves behind, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Effie Martin Tribble, daughter, Virginia (Ginger) Tribble Buffalo Fritz, an infant son, John Derrell Tribble, Jr., four brothers, Stanley Tribble, J. D. Tribble, Buddy Tribble and a younger brother and four sisters, Hebbie T. Robertson, Bertha T. Shaw, Margaret T. Patterson and Bobbie Jean Imgram.
