Joseph H. Vincent, age 87, of Bolivar, departed this life Saturday morning, August 5, 2017 at the West Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt.
Mr. Vincent was born and lived his entire life in Hardeman County. The son of the late John I. Vincent, Sr. and Lois Long Vincent, he attended school in Bolivar before serving his country in the U. S. Air Force from 1952-1956. On July 16, 1957, he was united in marriage to Jacquelyn Hugholene Jacobs. The Vincents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary just last month.
Mr. Vincent worked for the US Postal Service in Bolivar as a mail carrier for 33 years before retiring in 1987. He also worked part-time as a dispatcher for Bolivar Electric Department. His leisure activities included fishing and hunting and he was a member of Parrans Chapel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Hugholene Vincent of Bolivar; his daughter Carolyn Naylor [Randy] of Saulsbury; his grandson, Blake Naylor of Pensacola, FL; two sisters, Emily Hinson of Jackson and Frieda Waller of Bolivar; four brothers, John I. Vincent, Jr. of Bolivar, Butch Vincent [Judy] of Collierville, Richard Vincent [Judy] of Memphis and Curtis Vincent of Hickory Withe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Wilbert, Kenneth, Cecil and O'Neal Vincent.
