KIRK BROWN DARNELL
was born in Gaston Springs, Mississippi on July 10, 1922 the daughter of the late Hubert Franklin Brown, Sr. and Ola Kirk Bowling Brown.
On November 8, 1947 she was united in marriage to Thomas Heinman Darnell, who survives.
Mrs. Darnell was secretary to the president of Snelson Seed Company in Atlanta, Georgia. She also worked for the Quartermaster Corp during World War II and also had other secretarial jobs. Mrs. Darnell was a member of First Baptist Church in Savannah since 1963. She attended Business College in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Mrs. Darnell was a former Girl Scout leader and loved to watch sports with her husband especially when her grandchildren were playing and she was their #1 fan.
She departed this life on May 15, 2014 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 5 days.
In addition to her husband Tom of Savannah, Tennessee, she is survived by her children, Barbara Hargrave and her husband William of Smyrna, Georgia, Linda Gibbs and her husband Ronnie of Savannah, Tennessee, Dolly Bain and her husband Jimmy of Savannah, Tennessee and Vicki McWhorter and her husband Dwayne of Mansfield, Louisiana
seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren
two brothers, Hubert Franklin Brown, Jr. of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Jimmie Dale Brown and his wife Patsy of Stockbridge, Georgia
two sister in laws, Yvonne Brown and Clemmie Brown, both of Calhoun City, Mississippi
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Brown Hubbard and Christine Hammersley Bekkering, two brothers, Prentice and Wilbur Brown and one sister in law, Norma Brown
