LARRY GENE (GOLDEN EAGLE) BRUMLEY
was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on March 26, 1951 the son of the late Leonard P. and Hattie Beatrice Hindmon Brumley.
Larry worked for A & G Trucking Company for 9 years and he also had worked for James Rivers Corporation for 2 years, Clayton Homes for 10 years and City of Savannah for 3 years. In his spare time he would play Texas holdem and collect knives. Larry was a good man and would do anything for you. He was the kind of man that never judged anyone, always smiling and ready to talk with anyone that had time to talk. Larry was known by other drivers by his CB handle "Golden Eagle".
He departed this life on August 3, 2017 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 8 days.
Larry is survived by his children, Julie Washington of Huntsville, Alabama, Kimberley Brumley of Huntsville, Alabama and Regina Bearden of Savannah, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Alexandria Bearden, Kane Bearden, Bailey Washington, Emma Chapman and Sydney Bowling; one great grandchild, Kennedy Taylor Crotts; sisters, Maxine Kemp of Adamsville, Tennessee, Geraldine Talley of Savannah, Tennessee and Dianne Schmidt of Booneville, Mississippi; and one brother, Ricky Brumley of Savannah, Tennessee
Larry is also survived by his lifetime companion, Wanda Harris Brumley of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Brown and Darren Brumley, one daughter, Brandi Brumley, one sister, Margaret Harmon and four brothers, James, David, Douglas and Harold Brumley.
Services will be held on August 5, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, Tennessee, with Bro. Phil Mitchell and Julie Brumley Washington officiating.
