Lewis Harley "L.H." English was born on August 15, 1951, the son of the late Lewis Harley English, Sr. and Flora Duff English. He departed this life on July 30, 2017, at the age of 65 years, 11 months, and 15 days.
L.H. worked as a mechanic and school bus driver for the Hardin County Board of Education. He attended New Harmony Baptist Church and before that, Crossroads Union Church. Throughout his lifetime, L.H. lived in Lincoln Park, Michigan; Gary and Michigan City, Indiana; and Hardin County, Tennessee, where he spent most of his life. L.H. enjoyed being with friends, tinkering with automobiles, and building many different things. He was an avid pool player and could work on machinery of all types.
L.H. is survived by his sons, Chad English of Phoenix, Arizona and Matthew English of Olive Hill, Tennessee; daughter, Chasidy English and husband Rich Larsen of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Frankie Harrison and Kate Hosea of Savannah, Tennessee and Rachel Wyatt of Scotts Hill, Tennessee; and four grandchildren, Aubrey English, Maya English Larsen, Olivia English Larsen, and Victoria English Larsen.
In addition to his parents, L.H. was preceded in death by his sisters, Nell Polk and Edith Walker, and brothers, Orlando English, Oty Lee English, and Doty Dee English.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM on Saturday, August 5, 2017 and 1:00 PM-3:00 PM on Sunday, August 6, 2017, all at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah. A memorial service will be held on August 6, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah in Savannah, Tennessee, with Dwight Massengill officiating.
