Lillie Ann Hunt Hayslett of Selmer, TN was born April 14, 1944 to John E. and Rosie Lee Brown Hunt in Corinth, MS. She departed this life on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.
Preceding her in death were her husband, George Franklin Hayslett, Sr,; maternal grandparents, Solon Brown and Annie Lee Jenkins; two great grandsons, Steven Joshua Westbrooks and Elisha Jerome Westbrooks.
Mrs. Hayslett confessed her love for Christ at an early age and in 1995 she was baptized in Jesus name and came up out of the water speaking in tongues as the Spirit of the Holy Ghost gave the utterance and singing "If I Don't Wake Up In The Morning Everything Will Be Alright", and "I Got My Ticket Lord". She was a member of New Jerusalem Faith Apostolic Church in Selmer.
She leaves many to mourn her passing, her loving and devoted mother Rosie Lee Brown Mason and stepfather Fred Lou Mason; a brother, James Hunt; her children, George Hayslett, Jr., Walter Hayslett, Patricia (Steve) Westbrooks, and Thomas Hayslett; a God daughter, Lynn Trice, all of Selmer; grandchildren, Steven (Sandra) Westbrooks, of Selmer, Ashley (Eric) Cruz, of Pickwick Dam, TN, Keleshia Amos, Markita Cole, B. J. Strayhorn, of Jackson, TN, and Thomas "TJ" Patterson of Pickwick Dam. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Her favorite saying was "Why worry when you can pray".
