Lonell King was born June 27, 1927 in Hardeman, TN the daughter of the late Lola Clarence and Sadie Bertha Mae Smith Whitten.
She was united in marriage to John Eldridge King on September 26, 1942.
Mrs. King retired from Brown Shoe Company. She loved her family, going to church, reading the Bible, worshipping the Lord and was a member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Selmer, TN. She enjoyed family gatherings, singing, playing the guitar and fellowship with friends.
Mrs. King departed this life on January 24, 2015 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 6 Months, 28 Days. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Eldridge King of Selmer, TN; three sons, Larry Dene King and wife Shirley of Selmer, TN, Lonnie Gene King of Selmer, TN, Johnny A. King and wife Dottie of Selmer, TN; two daughters, Junell (King) Goodrum and husband Charles of Selmer, TN, Connie Sue (King) Moore and husband Duane of Pocahontas, TN;
eleven grandchildren, Sherri (King) Duncan, Stephanie Goodrum and husband Scotty, Jason King and wife Belinda, Pamela Sagely and husband Tommy, Amy King and husband Greg, Kristi Harris and husband Brian, Angela Griswell and husband Shane, Alicia Shaw and husband Adam, Sarah (Moore) Chambers, Jonathan Moore, Rachel Moore;
fourteen great grandchildren, Alise McDaniel and husband Zach, Peyton Duncan, Brent King, Sidney Goodrum, Anna Whitten, Tristan King, Allie King, Elaina Harris, Lydia Harris, Alison Griswell, Leslie Kate Shaw, Macie Lauren Shaw, Gavin Luke Shaw, Abigail Grace Moore;
a great-great-grandchild, Ahylvia McDaniel; two step grandchildren, Hunter and Megan Sagely; family friend, Rachel King; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Patsy King; six brothers, Wade Whitten, Bonnie Whitten, Everette Whitten, Connie Whitten, Curnice Whitten, Gene Whitten; three sisters, Florida Foster, May Cox, Eddie Lou Whitten.
