Lorena Wintjen was born on August 20, 1940, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Edward Samuel Christian and Bessie Leona Jessup Numann, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Bruce Allen Wintjen, who preceded her in death on August 29, 1998.
Mrs. Wintjen formerly lived in Quincy, Illinois and was employed with the State of Illinois as a caseworker, where she eventually retired. She was also employed by the Wise Company, Larry's Echo, Wal-Mart and Nina's Market. Mrs. Wintjen was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Savannah, Tennessee. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was devoted to her family and always wanted the best for them. She was a devoted Christian lady, lived her life to the fullest, and who was there for anyone and everyone.
Mrs. Wintjen departed this life on November 8, 2013, at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 19 days.
She is survived by five children, Timothy Wintjen and his wife, Cheryl of Cerro Gordo, Tennessee, Renie Jo Wintjen Reeves and her husband, Joe of Jackson, Tennessee, Amanda Wintjen Buchanan and her husband, Buck of Savannah, Tennessee, Barbara Wintjen Brumley and her husband, Terry, of Fulton, Mississippi and Bruce Wintjen and his wife Abby from Savannah, Tennessee; niece, Marilyn Numann of Savannah, Tennessee and several other nieces and nephews; special friend, Pam West of LaVergne, Tennessee; twenty-seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Louise Menn of Arlington, Virginia and Lin Numann of Irving, Texas.
In addition to her husband, Bruce and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell Numann and Louis Numann and three sisters, Lu Migasi, Laura Numann and Lucille Azotea; and two grandchildren.
