Mrs. Lorene Lipford passed away Tuesday morning, July 7, 2015 at National Healthcare in Somerville, TN.
The widow of Samuel Oliver Lipford, who died February 7, 1977, she was the food service supervisor of the Dietary Department at Western Mental Health Institute for over 25 years. She was born October 10, 1923 in Hardeman County, daughter of the late Jacob Wesley McAlpin and Bessie Baker McAlpin and was a lifelong resident of Hardeman County. She had lived in Jackson for the past two years. Mrs. Lipford was active in the Ladies Auxillary and was a member of Parrans Chapel Baptist Church in Bolivar for more than 20 years.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Rick and Melissa Lipford of Chapel Hill, NC; a sister, Alberta 'Bert' Lipford of Bolivar; two grandsons, Richie Lipford and Nicholas LIpford; and three great grandchildren, Taylor, Macy and Landen Lipford.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Buford McAlpin and a granddaughter, Brittni Lipford.
Memorial donations in Mrs. Lipford's name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
