Louise Austin

Louise Austin, 94, departed this life on Monday, June 9, 2014, at Hardin Medical Center.

She was born in Shelby County, Tennessee on December 9, 1919, the daughter of the late Joe Lewis and Ida Bain Robbins. On June 19, 1938, she was united in marriage to Arthur Hershel Austin. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1998.

Mrs. Austin was a homemaker and enjoyed craft of all sorts, especially making Christmas ornaments, they were her favorite. She attended Cherry's Chapel Church, was a member of Mt. Tabor Church, Savannah Home Demonstration Club, and Hardin County Farm Bureau.

She is survived by her children, Gene Austin and wife Norlenia of Lexington, Mississippi, Janice
Horton and husband John of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Gena Boykin and husband Charley, Dane Austin and wife Lilly, Jay Austin and wife Judy, Jason Wade Horton and wife Jessica; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Delenia Boyd of Houston, Texas, Irene McCloud of Florida, and Rachel Foreman of West Memphis, Arkansas.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by a brother, J.L. Robbins and sister, Lorena Rees.
