Malvin F. Hannis

Mr. Hannis passed away Sunday morning, April 1, 2018, at Pine Meadows Health Care in Bolivar.

He was a native of Hardeman County, the son of the late Redus, Sr. and Cratie Lou Pipkin Hannis. He lived here until 1969 at which time he joined the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Hannis served his country for 24 years before his retirement as a Master Sergeant. Following his military career, he was a truck driver for over 20 years.

A graduate of Bolivar Central High School, he was married on Tuesday, March 14, 1972 to Yong Suk Hannis, who survives. He was member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife of 46 years, he leaves his son, Michael (Effie) Hannis of Ft. Walton Beach; granddaughter, Evelyn Hannis, also of Ft. Walton Beach; a sister, Maddie Lou McDonald of Middleton; two brothers, Jimmy and Sam Hannis, both of Bolivar; and several nieces and nephews including Dwayne and Angie Hannis, who served as his caregivers for the last several months.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Jane McKee and a brother, Redus Hannis, Jr.
