Margie Goodrum

Margie Goodrum was born September 29, 1925 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Wes and Lou Whitten Moore.

She was united in marriage to Artie C. Goodrum on March 7, 1945. Mr. Goodrum preceded her in death on May 10, 1981. Together, they served as pastors of Dixie Hill Church of God in Bolivar, TN for 10 years.

Mrs. Goodrum was a member of the Piney Grove Church of God. She loved going to church and was still serving as song leader prior to her sickness. She was a prayer warrior, a woman of strong faith and determination. She enjoyed her family and loved them very much. She was an excellent cook, and is known for her homemade biscuits and fried peach pies. She was a watcher of TV game shows, religious broadcasting and an avid fan of any kind of basketball.

Mrs. Goodrum retired from Brown Shoe Company, was a housewife and took pride in raising farm animals especially cattle.

Mrs. Goodrum departed this life on July 1, 2014 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 9 Months, 2 Days. She is survived by two sons, Donald Goodrum and wife Lee of Lawrenceburg, TN, Jimmy Goodrum and wife Kathy of Gainesville, GA; two daughters, Doris Woodall and husband John of Nashville, TN, Danita Moss and husband Aaron of Bethel Springs, TN; a brother, Arthur Moore of Benton, AR; two sisters, Betty Ingram of Selmer, TN, Virginia Davidson of Batavia, IA; two sister-in-laws, Delcie Goodrum of Eupora, MS, Gwen Moore of Selmer, TN; eight grandchildren, Kevin Goodrum and wife Pam, Greg Goodrum, Matt Goodrum, Amber Tittle and husband Ryan, John Woodall III and wife Christie, Michelle Jenkins and husband Allen, Joshua Moss and wife Jaimie, Hannah Sides and husband Allen; 20 great grandchildren, Meghan Goodrum, Avery, Riley, and Blake Tittle, Brennan, Brooklynn, Bailey, Briley, Baylor, Bryce, Briella, Bexleigh, Braylon, Briggs, and Beatty Woodall, Kerrigan, Kensington , Kaden, and Karsyn Jenkins, Jordyn Moss; a great-great-grandchild, Kaden Goodrum; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Goodrum was preceded in death by three brothers, Odis, Thurman, and Curtis Moore; three sisters, Pauline Moore, Myrtle Hall, Annell Hendrix.
