Mrs. Margie Lovelace, age 75 of Saulsbury, Tennessee, passed away Friday morning, January 16, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mrs. Lovelace was born in Friendship, Tennessee Saturday, July 15, 1939 to the late Clifford Williamson and Irene Barnes. On August 31, 1957, she was united in marriage to Mr. Billy Franklin "Bill" Lovelace in Friendship. She moved to Memphis with her husband, where they lived for a few years before moving to Hardeman County in 1966. Mr. Lovelace preceded her in death September 25, 2007.
Mrs. Lovelace was well known and loved in her community as the director of the Hardeman County Literacy Council. She wrote the grant for and started the program, which she then directed for 27 years. She was a member of Saulsbury Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Among all her pastimes, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Watkins of Saulsbury; sons, Allen Lovelace and wife Linda of Bolivar, and John Lovelace of Jackson; five grandchildren, Joshua Watkins (Amber), Andrew Watkins (Chasity), Sara Murphy (Cody), Wesley Lovelace and Carson Lovelace; and five great-grandchildren, Anna Watkins, Colton Watkins, Abree Watkins, Reese Watkins and Landon Murphy.
The family requests that any charitable contributions made in memory of Mrs. Lovelace are sent to the adult education program of their choice.
