Marilyn Maywald Weiler

Marilyn Maywald was born in Beaumont, Texas on October 12, 1928, the daughter of Robert Roy and Minnie Lee Bamburg Maywald. On August 3, 1946 she married Charles Robert (Bob) Weiler, Sr. who preceded her in death on January 26, 2012. Their only child, Charles Robert Weiler, Jr., also preceded her in death on August 5, 2009.

Marilyn was a unique and special woman who was truly unforgettable. She always opened her arms and home to family and friends and was full of fun and love. Very few people who met her stayed strangers for long. The love she had to give never seemed to run out; she always had more. The strongest of the strong, she never gave up on what she set her mind to accomplish. Over the years, when she was involved in a project in the community, with her church, or at home, she put her heart into it and welcomed the challenges or obstacles with her determination and her faith and reliance on the Lord Jesus. She was truly a beautiful woman, inside and out.

Over the years, Marilyn played the piano and sang at Robertson Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member. She did the same at home for her family’s entertainment, always stating she did it for the Lord, believing you should not waste anything God gives you the ability to do. She truly lived life to the fullest, supporting those around her.

Marilyn loved animals and enjoyed antiquing and “junking”, hobbies that were evident the minute you walked into her country home. Much of her attention was focused there, decorating it with her own flair by painting signs and furniture, and making flower arrangements. Her home made one think of a country museum that seemed to change often, making those who entered feel as though they had walked into the pages of “Country Living” magazine. She especially enjoyed collecting chickens and roosters in all shapes and sizes, each with their own unique details. The attention she gave to her home became her signature of remembrance.

Marilyn Maywald Weiler left this world on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the age of 89 years, one month, and four days. She leaves her granddaughters Cristy Weiler Peoples and her husband, Phil, of Naples, Florida, and Leslie Weiler Meng of Bowling Green, Kentucky, as well as her great-granddaughter, Myra Meng, and great-grandson, Joe Meng. She also leaves her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Ann Weiler, of Counce, Tennessee and their extended family, many nieces and nephews, and her extended family in Texas.

Other than her parents, husband, and son, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister, Rosa Lee Maywald Solleder, and brothers, Bobie Joe Maywald and Charles H. Maywald.

Marilyn was loved and adored by many who will miss her. She left a place in their hearts and memories forever.
