Marion Harding Stricklin was born December 3, 1944 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late Elbert and Clara Gallien Stricklin. Mr. Stricklin died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 69 Years, 3 Months, 5 Days. He was retired machinist at Tennessee Valley Authority and a member of Machinist Local 65. Mr. Stricklin enjoyed restoring and showing John Deere tractors and was a member of Crossroads of Dixie Antique Tractor and Engine Club.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Dean Stricklin of Collinwood, TN, a son, Jeff Stricklin of Collinwood, TN, a daughter, Melissa Stricklin Simbeck of Leoma, TN, stepsons, Randy Hinton of San Antonio, TX, Steve Hinton of Rock Hill, SC, Keith Hinton and Shannon Hinton both of Collinwood, TN, stepdaughter, Tina Kephart, Collinwood, TN13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, two brothers, John Dee Stricklin and Richard Neal Stricklin both of Collinwood, TN, sister, Virginia Stricklin Beard of Florence, AL. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stricklin was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Paul Stricklin and Shalor Lee Stricklin.
Services will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Mike Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow in Collinwood Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Monday, March 10th from 4:30 PM - 9:00 PM and Tuesday, March 11th from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Danny Sandusky, Bobby Martin, Troy Reed, Bill Turnbo, Raymond Thomas Berry, Ricky Smith, Jerry Kephart, and Jeremy Kephart.
