Mark S. Townsend

Mr. Townsend of Rogers Springs, passed away Wednesday morning, February 4, 2015 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

He was a native and life-long resident of Hardeman County and the son of the late Vester and Mary O. Townsend. He had worked as a driver for HTL Trucking out of Selmer and was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Townsend, described by his family as always being "on-the-go", was very involved in the life of his family. He especially enjoyed his nieces and nephews spending many hours with them. He was passionate about his work as a truck driver and enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding four wheelers. He served his country, briefly, in the US Navy.

He leaves two sisters, Helen (Wayne) Manley of Rogers Springs and Brenda Townsend, also of Rogers Springs; 3 nieces and nephews, Melissa Sisco, Jackie (Greg) Byers and Kasey Townsend; and 6 great-nieces and nephews, Makaila and Jacob Sisco, Cameryn, Delaney and Alexis Byers and Jaylon Krannichfeld.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Ray and Johnny Boyd Townsend; and a niece, Kelly Townsend.
