Mary Lois Parks

March 30, 1930 — November 19, 2017

Mrs. Parks passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at NHC-Somerville.

A native of Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Reuben Newell Freeman and Emma Kate Key Freeman and lived in Fayette County until her marriage to Thomas Jimmy Parks, Sr. on December 22, 1946 when they moved to Hardeman County. Mr. Parks passed away July 22, 2007.

She worked 24 years in dietary at Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar and also had been owner of Highway 100 Cafe in Whiteville. Additionally, she had worked for Salant & Salant in Somerville and H.I.S. in Whiteville.

Mrs. Parks was an active member of the Whiteville First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. In her leisure time, she enjoyed her flowers, her church and her family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Mike) Randolph of Whiteville, Darlene McKeen of Bolivar and Beth (Mike) Kee of Cloverport, one son, Michael N. (Debbie) Parks of Roswell, GA; daughter-in-law, Jane Parks of Hickory Withe, TN; ten grandchildren, Chris Parks, Audra Pelsue, James Parks, Michelle Carey, Lisa Lugo, Johnny Randolph, Amy Trotter, Laura Kee, Jessica Bissett and Steven McKeen; fourteen great-grandchildren, Matt Pelsue, Olivia Parks, William Parks, Haleigh Carey, Ryleigh Carey, Sarah Knight, Peyton Knight, Hunter Knight, Abby Randolph, Gabe Randolph, Bryce Trotter, Braeden Trotter, Dalton Bissett and Parker Bissett; and one great-great-grandchild, Annie Randolph.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tommy Parks in May, 2017 and brothers, Dave and Winfield Freeman.
