Marye Callahan Smith

Mrs. Marye Callahan Smith, age 75, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 25, 2015 at Vitas Hospice in Stockbridge, Georgia.

A native of Hardeman County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Murphy and Ollie Gertrude Pierce Callahan. She moved to Memphis to attended business college. There she met Eugene E. Smith and they were married July 9, 1965. Together, they were owners/operators of a dairy delivery business. Mrs. Smith also worked for Wal-Mart. Mr. Smith passed away in 1987. She was a member of the Raleigh Assembly of God Church in Memphis. In addition to Hardeman County and Memphis, she has resided in Missouri, California and Georgia.

She leaves her daughter, Rachel (D.T.) Morris of Marietta, GA; her son, Eugene E. (Robin) Smith, Jr. of Citrus Heights, CA; and 3 grandchildren, Melissa, Zachary and Myka Smith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy; and her 2 brothers, Robert "Buck" and Frank Callahan.

Memorials should be made to a children's charity of the donor's choice.
