Maxine Robinson Carroll

May 31, 1921 — January 14, 2015

Maxine Robinson Carroll, age 93, died peacefully on January 14, 2015 with her family by her side at Morning View Village in Maryville, TN. She was born May 31, 1921 in Bethel Springs, TN to Wilbur and Eva Moore Robinson.
Mrs. Carroll is survived by husband of 72 years, Norman, daughter Beverly Ward of Knoxville, son Rob and wife Annette (also dearest friend) of Walland, TN, granddaughter Alden DeFeo (Marc) of Nashville, grandson Josh Ward (Kellie) of Knoxville and great granddaughter, Ellison DeFeo.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her son Norman Carroll Jr., sisters Etta Jones and Joy Cox and brother Wayne Robinson.
Mrs. Carroll was a remarkable and kind lady who deeply loved her family, friends and her faith. Her greatest pastime was reading which she enjoyed daily. She also loved traveling to many parts of the US and Europe. She never forgot her home county of McNairy in West TN maintaining support for the County Historical Society Museum of which she was founding member.
She was a homemaker, fabulous cook, seamstress, enjoyed crafts and refinishing furniture, worked several places including being one of the first employees of McNairy County General Hospital and retiring from the State of Tennessee Health Department in 1986.
Interment will be in Stantonville Cemetery with a graveside service on March 28th at 2 PM.
Memorials may be made to the McNairy County Historical Society (114 N Third St. Selmer, TN 38375) and/or the Jack McConnico Memorial Library (225 Oak Grove Road Selmer, TN 38375).
