MAXINE PRIDDY MCCASKILL

Beech Bluff, TN: Etta Maxine Priddy McCaskill, age 87 passed away August 12, 2014 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born August 8, 1927 in the New Friendship Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Samuel (Sam) and Viola Carroll Priddy. She went to school at New Friendship and graduated Chester County High School in 1944. She married William Troy McCaskill in 1946 and they made their home at New Friendship. She worked at Salant & Salant Mfg. for eight years and worked as a cook at the Chester County High School from 1976 till 1998 and later as a “grandparent” in the foster grandparent program. She had worked part time at the Chester County Independent.

Mrs. McCaskill was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church and she loved gardening and sewing.

Mrs. McCaskill is survived by four sons, Doug McCaskill and wife Sandra of Beech Bluff, Keith McCaskill and wife Jill of Jackson, Norris McCaskill and wife Nancy of Beech Bluff, and Glen McCaskill and wife Teresa of Beech Bluff; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Billy Priddy and Carroll Priddy both of Beech Bluff and a sister, Jewell Weatherall of Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Troy McCaskill, a son, Don McCaskill and a brother, Clyde Priddy.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with John McCaskill and Bobby Bray officiating and burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday.
