Mrs. Hazlegrove passed away Saturday morning, April 7, 2018 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The widow of Billy S. Hazlegrove, who died July 2, 1988, she was the daughter of the late Marcus N. and Myra J. Fulghum. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Blasingame and Ann Warr; and six brothers, Neely, Marcus, Edward, Robert, Joe and Jerry Fulghum.
She was born in Bolivar and lived her entire life here. For over 55 years, she worked as bookkeeper for Simmons Bank (formerly known as Hardeman County Savings Bank) in Bolivar. She married Mr. Hazlegrove on Saturday, April 12, 1948 and was a long-time member of Bolivar First Baptist Church. At the church, she sang in the Golden Sounds Choir and taught the 3 year old's Sunday School class for over 30 years. Mrs. Hazlegrove was a 1942 graduate of Bolivar Central High School and, in her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time on the water at Pickwick or the Gulf Coast, fishing and yard work.
She leaves two daughters, Pam Hazlegrove of Bolivar and Kathy Pipkin of Jackson; two sons, Michael (Nettie) Hazlegrove of Tomball, TX and Chris (Jennifer) Hazlegrove of Canton, MI; six grandchildren, Simon and Lyndsi Pipkin, Charlie, Alice, Alex and Sara Hazlegrove; and four great-grandchildren, Dylan, Mila and Austin Pipkin and Keaton Whitworth.
