Nellie Mae Lard was born December 16, 1929 in Phil Campbell, AL the daughter of the late William Wiley Duboise and Hattie Mae Smith Duboise Maddox.
She was united in marriage to Ollie Lard on July 27, 1952 , who preceded her in death on August 8, 2001. Mrs. Lard was a Homemaker and was a member of the Bumpus Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Before moving to Hardin County in 2002, she had lived in Waterloo, AL for 50 years. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, gardening, and listening to gospel music. She also enjoyed singing, and performed regularly with her sister on the radio at WLAY, Sheffield, AL.
She departed this life on February 18, 2015 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 2 Months, 2 Days. She is survived by a sister, Lela Pearl (Duboise) Davis and her husband Lloyd of Savannah, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Verlie Dean Deboise and William Ollie Deboise.
