Odis Clarence Henson

ODIS CLARENCE HENSON

was born in Savannah, Tennessee on April 24, 1941 the son of the late James Roosevelt and Nellie Rose Ward Henson.

On April 26, 1960 he was united in marriage to Joyce Cates, who survives.

Odis served his country in the National Guard. He worked as a mechanic for Pettigrew Ford in Adamsville, Tennessee from 1979 to 2000 and was the owner, operator and mechanic of Henson's Automotive. Odis, also known as "The Bicycle Man" was the owner and operator of The Corner Store in Crump, Tennessee, where he would buy, sell, trade, all sorts of deals.

He departed this life on May 1, 2018 at the age of 77 years and 7 days.

In addition to his wife, Joyce of 58 years, Odis is survived by his children, Kathylou Joyce Henson Alexander and her husband Ricky of Lilburn, Georgia, William Odis Henson and his wife Kristi Allen Henson of Winder, Georgia, Ronald Clarence Henson of Adamsville, Tennessee, Karen Renee Henson Thompson and her husband Joe of Decaturville, Tennessee, Terry Wayne Henson of Michie, Tennessee, James Henry Henson and his wife Sadonna Woods Henson of Adamsville, Tennessee and Jonathan Blake Henson and his fiancee Lindsey of Adamsville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ricky Alexander, II and his wife Lisa, Brian Allen and his wife Nicole, William Henson, Jr. and his fiancee Alyssa, Kayla Marie Henson and her fiancé Chris, Zachary Henson, Blessing Ellyce Thompson, Tyler Henson, Shyanne Miller, Leah Nicole Henson and her fiancé Ben Baker, James Trenton Henson and his fiancee Kimberly and Henry Craig Henson; great grandchildren, Adrianna, BellaKay, Liam and Beau; brothers, Roger Henson of Savannah, Tennessee and Larry Henson of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; sisters, Ann McLain of Adamsville, Tennessee, Frances McFadden of Savannah, Tennessee, Dianne Davis of Adamsville, Tennessee and Nellie Belle Dunn of Lawton, Oklahoma

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Steven, Mancil and James Henson, two sisters, Naomi Keymon and Debbie Henson Young and two great grandchildren, Rhett Thomas Allen and Katharyn Miranda Alexander.
