Okey Ray Starr was born July 13, 1933 in Mingo county, WV the son of the late Loren and Oma Carey Starr. He was united in marriage to Letha Starr on June 5, 1954.
Mr. Starr was a veteran and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Later he also worked as Chief of Police for Ohio State along with working with the Florida's Department of Children Families as an investigator.
Some of his favorite pastimes were reading, writing, taking pictures, drinking coffee, and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Starr departed this life on July 3, 2014 in at the age of 80 Years, 11 Months, 20 Days.
He is survived by his wife Letha Starr of Ramer, TN; a son, Jeff Starr of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a daughter, Deborah Rae Rich and husband Craig of Asheboro, NC; six grandchildren, BJ Edly and wife Kristin of Orange City, FL, Cody Rich and wife Laura of Asheboro, NC, Lydia Rich of Asheboro, NC, Raelynn Rich of Asheboro, NC, Talitha Starr of Hilliard, OH, Mysticole Cyan Starr of Marysville, OH; five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Edly of Orange City, FL, Trenton Edly of Orange City, FL, Kaedynn Rich of Asheboro, NC, Joseph Rich of Asheboro, NC, and Tyler Rich of Asheboro, NC and many extended family and friends.
