Oliver Sanders Smith was born August 13, 1931 in McNairy, TN the son of the late Marion Alvin and Doshia Ethel Bryant Smith.
He was united in marriage to Nola Faye McDaniel on April 17, 1956.
Mr. Smith was a Master Carpenter. He worked residential and commercial construction and was a superintendent for H&M Construction. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in McNairy, the Masonic Lodge in Bethel Springs, TN and served his country honorably in the United States Army.
Some of his favorite pastimes were wood working, welding, gardening, bird hunting, trapping, spending time with his grandchildren, telling stories, and singing in church.
Mr. Smith departed this life on December 9, 2013 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 3 Months, 26 Days. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nola Faye (McDaniel) Smith of Bethel Springs, TN; a son, Lecoy Smith of Bethel Springs, TN; a daughter, Tresa Faye Reynolds and husband Danny T. of Selmer, TN; three grandchildren, Chasity N. Smith of Roanoke, VA, Kyle A. Brown of Fallbrook, CA, Zachary L. Brown of Selmer, TN; and a great-grandchild, Tristian I. Brown of Fallbrook, CA.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a grandchild, April Dawn Smith; four sisters, Ozell Oliver, Hazel Gadberry, Alma Hooper, Ramel Taylor; and a brother, Birl Smith.
