Onetta Long Matney

Mrs. Onetta Long Matney departed this life on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Waynesboro Health Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 6 Months, 27 Days. She was born June 12, 1942 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late Ruby Edward and Lillie Mae Lee Long. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Matney was preceded in death by brother, Dallas Long; and a sister, Reba Long.

Mrs. Matney was united in marriage to Leemon Matney on December 23, 1961. Mr. Matney preceded her in death on March 5, 1999.

Mrs. Matney was a factory worker.

She is survived by daughters, Carol (Matney) Campbell and husband Doyle of Olive Hill, TN, Jessica (Jessie) Jackson and husband Raymond of Waynesboro, TN; son, Phillip Matney of Leoma, TN; grandchildren; James Thrasher; Dustin and Kaiden Matney; great grandchildren; Ian Jackson; Shelby McDonald and Evan Dixon; sisters, Mary Kuehn and Betty Moore both of Waynesboro, TN, Ann Hendrix and , Kay Long both of Lawrenceburg, TN, Melissa Westcott of Hermitage, TN; a brother, Bruce Long of Lawrenceburg, TN;

Services will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Robert Gobbell officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope (Christian) Cemetery , Waynesboro, Tennessee

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 10, 6:00-9:00 pm and on Sunday, January 11, 9:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
