Peggy Counce Burks

Peggy Counce Burks was born on July 7, 1935, in Hardin County, Tennessee to the late Marvin and Vera Adams Counce.

She was united in marriage to James O. (Tom) Burks, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Burks was a member of the Center Hill Baptist Church in Counce, Tennessee. She was a homemaker who loved yard work, gardening, antiques, and loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Burks departed this life on October 7, 2013, at the age of 78 years and 3 months.

She is survived by a son, James Anthony (Tony) Burks and his wife, Sharon of Shiloh, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Timothy Roy Burks, Jr. and his wife, Jill, Miranda Franklin Walker and her husband, Chris, April Burks Ostie and her husband, John; and nine great-grandchildren, Avery Burks, Haddie Mae Burks, Ruthie Burks, Will Phillips, Luke Walker, John Ostie, Evan Peters, Rosie Ostie and Giovanni Ostie.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Roy (Slug) Burks; three brothers, Josh Counce, Bob Counce and Floyd Counce and one sister, Margie Waddell.
