POLLY DECK

Finger, TN: Polly Owl Deck age 83 passed away Sunday November 22, 2015 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born May 22, 1932 in Trenton, New Jersey the daughter of the late David and Ollie Mae Shook Owl. She lived in Trenton, New Jersey and in Cherokee, NC and was married to Charles Deck, October 27, 1950. They moved to Vero Beach, FL and later Fort Pierce Beach, FL, and moved to Finger in 1973, where she still lived. She was a homemaker, raising seven children. She was a member of the Bethel Springs Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where she served as a Deaconess and Church Secretary. She was also a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.Mrs. Deck loved to travel, work word puzzles and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Deck is survived by five daughters, Belinda Taylor and husband Larry of Finger, Mona Lisa Robertson of Henderson, Ronda Hutcherson and husband Gerry of Henderson, Lorina Cagle and husband Montie of Finger and Lauren Davidson and husband Alan of Finger and a son, Flint Deck of Henderson; grandchildren, Lonny Taylor, Ashley Schlag, J.R. Rayna, Seneca Blurton, Dakota Deck, Lisa Busby, Clint Hutcherson, Brody Hutcherson, Emily Marin, Ciara Davidson, Christopher Davidson and Hannah Davidson; two sisters, Darlene Caudill of Vero Beach, FL and Sylvia Deck of Vero Beach, FL and a brother, Frank Owl of Cherokee, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Edward Deck in 1979 and a daughter, Christina Busby.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday November 27, 2015 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Pastor Duane O’Ffill and Pastor Bob Wint officiating and burial will follow in Rocky Knob Cemetery at Finger, TN.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday and beginning at 8:00 AM on Friday until service time at 11:00 AM on Friday.
