Ralph Skinner of Oak Grove, Alabama departed this life on November 14, 2014 at the age of 80 Years, 4 Months, and 23 Days. He was born on June 22, 1934, son to the late Andrew Jackson and Bertie Mae Matthews Skinner.
He was united in marriage to Karen J. Holland, who survives. They were married for 58 years before his death.
Ralph courageously served his country in the United States Army during the Korean war. He retired from Jim Walter Resources Number 5 Mine as a Clean Plant Operator.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Debra Livingston and her husband, Harry, and Ronna Hall and her husband, Tim; one sister, Betty Archer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was known as "Grand Daddy" to Brandon Cargile, Seth Cargile, Ray Bagley, Laura Bagley, and Clint Hall, and "Grand Paw" to Hannah, Ethan, and Ella Cargile.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson and Bertie Mae Matthews Skinner.
