Randall Lynn Shields, 53, of Bolivar, departed this life, Thursday, November 2, 2017 at his home.
The son of Wayne and Ozell Duncan Shields of Horsnby, who survive, he worked as a farm hand, becoming disabled in March of 2017. He had also worked for 27 years at Webster's Sporting Goods and for Lynn Jackson, Bolivar Recycling and most recently, Big Bend Ranch. He was born February 9, 1964 in Hardeman County and lived all of his life here. His hobbies included camping and fishing. He enjoyed working and being around his 3 dogs but received his greatest pleasure from being around his friends and family, whom he loved, and grilling out for them. Mr. Shields was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Wayne and Ozell Shields of Hornsby; a daughter, Brittany Shields of Bolivar; a sister, Barbara (David) Crouse of Hackett, AR; two brothers, William (Cathy) Shields of Hornsby, Thomas Duane Shields of Bolivar; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Joyce Shields of Walnut, MS whom he was married to for 13 years. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Wayne Shields and a sister, Donna Sue Shields. The family requests memorial donations in his name be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org/donate).
