Jimmy Ray Finley was born September 1, 1942 in Missouri, the son of the late John D. and Ruby Inez Rickman Finley. He was united in marriage to Dortha Landreth on July 27, 1963.
Mr. Finley worked for the City of Adamsville Gas Department for 29 years before retiring. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Adamsville, Tennessee and a volunteer fireman for years. Mr. Finley loved his family very much and also loved to go to auctions and flea markets. In his younger years, he loved to go bird hunting.
Mr. Finley departed this life on September 27, 2017 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 75 Years, 26 Days. He is survived by his wife Dortha Finley; a daughter, Pamela Franks; two sons, Michael Finley and Ricky Finley and wife Donna all of Adamsville, TN; two sisters, Mary Finley of Jackson, TN, Brenda Comer of Adamsville, TN; seven grandchildren: Jason Young and wife Felicia, Megan Finley, Jessica Cook and husband Jamie, Jordan Young and wife Zoe, Morgan Caldwell, Molly Finley and Ryan Finley; and seven great grandchildren: Trevor Young, Eli Finley, Katie Cook, Harper Young, Peyton Young, Neyland Young and Lilly Cook; and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Finley was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Neal Finley; and a sister, Betty Jaggers.
