Mr. Raymond V. Siler, Jr., age 63 of Silerton, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday morning, September 16, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Siler was born in Henderson, Tennessee April 27, 1951 to the late Raymond V., Sr. and Verlor M. Siler. A lifelong resident of Hardeman County, he graduated with the Class of 1969 from Bolivar Central High School, and on July 2, 1978, he was united in marriage to Wendy A. Siler, who survives. He served in the United States Marines, and owned and operated Raymond's Body Shop for 28 years.He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bolivar, where he was a former Sunday School teacher and was active in jail ministry. Among his hobbies, he enjoyed woodworking, trap-shooting, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was also a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
In addition to his wife of 36 years, he is survived by a son, Chris Siler and wife Angela of Pinson; daughter, Amanda Wellons and husband Ian of Bolivar; sister, Mary Hatch of Bethel Springs; brother, Charles Siler of Bethel Springs; half brother, Phillip Odell Siler of Buena Park, California; a special nephew, Ray Hatch; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, two half-brothers, and three half-sisters.
