Richard D. McCoy

Mr. Richard D. McCoy passed away Tuesday night at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth, MS.

The widower of Mary Evelyn Lowrance McCoy, who died on May 22, 1995 after 45 years of marriage, he worked for 33 years with Ford Motor Company, working 10 years on the assembly line in Memphis, four months in Ohio, and 22 years in Sheffield, Alabama. He was born January 27, 1927, in Memphis, son of the late Douglas and Lillie McCoy and had lived in this area since 1981. He enjoyed working in his shop, watching westerns and shows about the civil war and going out to eat. Mr. McCoy was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Walnut.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Lowrance McCoy of Decatur, Alabama. In addition to his parents, and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Lynne McCoy on November 6, 2012 and two brothers, Joe and Kenneth McCoy. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
