Robert Leon (how bout that) Barkley of Lutts, TN, was born June 18, 1936 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of the late Carter and Annie Bell Jones Barkley. Mr. Barkley was retired from Dixie Heat Treating in Florence, AL. and departed this life on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Russellville Hospital in Russellville, Alabama at the age of 81 Years, 3 Months, 7 Days.

He is survived by sons, Ricky Barkley, wife, Gloria of Dalton, GA, Gary Barkley, wife, Mary of Russellville, AL and Kenny Barkley, wife, Penny of Waynesboro, TN; daughters, Vickie Berry, husband, Jeff of Linden, TN, Pam Hamner of Florence, AL; grandchildren, Shane and Kurt Barkley, Wesley Short, Dalton McMullan, Trey Barkley, Dakota Barkley, Melissa Maurer and Daniel and Dylan Baker and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Barkley was preceded in death by a son, Edward Douglas Ellis and sister, Virginia Dial.

Services will be Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee with Tracy Love officiating. Burial will follow in the Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery, Florence, Alabama with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm and Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Short, Dalton McMullan, Trey Barkley, Dylan Baker, Jack Horton and Jerome Gallaher with Dakota Barkley as honorary pallbearer.
