Robert "Bob" Delashmit was born on June 19, 1937, in Shelby County, Tennessee, the son of George Robert and Emma Hathcock Delashmit. On July 9, 1996, he was united in marriage to Janice Marie Highland, who survives.
Mr. Delashmit lived in Millington and Memphis, Tennessee and worked for the Humko Company in Memphis, Tennessee for six years, he lived in Fullerton, California and worked for the Humko Company in Buena Park, California for ten years, and he lived in Scappoose Oregon and worked for Premier Edible Oils in Portland, Oregon for twenty years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Counce, Tennessee and a past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge of Savannah, Tennessee. He enjoyed golfing, deep-sea and salmon fishing, and all types of sports. He was an avid Tennessee Vols Fan, Denver Broncos Fan and a Peyton Manning Fan.
Mr. Delashmit departed this life on November 9, 2013, at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 21 days.
In addition to his wife, Janice of Counce, Tennessee, he is survived by his children, Mike Delashmit, MaDonna McClain and Tracy Delashmit, all of Scappoose, Oregon, Priscilla Delashmit of Knoxville, Tennessee and stepson, Kevin Haynes of Counce, Tennessee; three sisters, Janet Dix of Counce, Tennessee, Debbie St. Clair of Boulder, Colorado and Betty Humphries of Lobelville, Tennessee and one brother, Larry Delashmit of Fayetteville, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Hosie and Willie Hathcock and Robert Lorenzo and Etta Mae Delashmit and a sister, Sue Waits.
