Robert Melvin Geibel (Mumbles) of Collinwood was born March 15, 1943 in Butler, PA the son of the late Regis Geibel and Dorothy McMillen Geibel Tilkins. Mr. Geibel died on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 1 Month, 4 Days. Mr. Geibel was a decorated U.S. Army veteran serving in the Viet-Nam War as a forward observer. While living in New Jersey he delivered auto parts for Franklin-Sussex Auto Parts. He also worked as a disc jockey. Robert was an avid golfer and motorcyclist. He was a former member of Rolling Thunder and was an honorary member of Blue Knights New Jersey IX. While living in Collinwood he and his companion, Bonnie Jennings operated Mrs. Hazelbea's Sweets and Treats in Collinwood.
He is survived by a son, Steven Geibel and wife Chris of Glenelg, MD, a daughter, Carmen Merolle and husband Arty of Hopatcong, NJ, six grandchildren, Jordy, Collin, Devin, and Kayleigh Geibel, Amanda and Megan Merolle, long time companion, Bonnie Jennings of Collinwood and her sons John and Michael Mulvaney, four sisters, Jane Skaggs and husband Paul, Karen Geibel, Shirley Sherrill and husband Jimmy all of Collinwood, TN, and Paula Bowling of Madison, AL, several nieces and nephews and a special cousin Dorothy Hartong of Akron, Ohio.
A celebration of life service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, May 2, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Collinwood with Tom Flood and John Ives officiating. At his families request his remains were cremated.
