Roger Lowrance

Roger Lowrance departed this life on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the age of 69 years, 1 month, and 22 days. He was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on August 2, 1948, the son of the late JC and Lillian Ovada Thacker Lowrance. On December 16, 1968, he was united in marriage to Linda Kay Robertson, who survives.

Roger retired from Shiloh National Military Park where he had worked in the maintenance department. He loved hunting, fishing, listening to Bluegrass, and spending time with his family and grandkids. Roger served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He earned many decorations and medals for his service, most notably the Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Lowrance of Shiloh, Tennessee; children, Daryl Lowrance of Olive Hill, Tennessee, Christine Smith of Kossuth, Mississippi, and Randal Lowrance of Counce, Tennessee; grandchildren, Katelyn Thames and husband Jacob Thames, Kristen Smith, Glennan Lowrance, Brandon Smith, and Mari Emma Lowrance; and great grandchild, Millie Hayes Thames.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Ann Lowrance; a sister, Carolyn McLain; and a brother, Danny Lowrance.
