Rosemary Siler Turner

Rosemary Siler Turner, age 86, of Bolivar, departed this life Sunday evening, August 20, 2017 at her home.

A native of Hardeman County, she was the owner/operator of Bill's Flower Shop in Bolivar since 1960. She was born September 13, 1930, daughter of the late Curtis and Rose McDaniel Siler and lived all of her life here. She was very active in the community, having served as the first female president of the Hardeman County Chamber of Commerce and also served as the first female President of the Tennessee Florists Association. She also was instrumental in the initial plans for widening Highway 64, making several trips to Nashville. Her floral design skills were well known throughout, being asked to helped decorate the White House at Christmas time during Gerald Ford's administration. Ms. Turner was a member of Bolivar First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son and his wife, William K. (Peggy) Turner of Henderson; a nephew, Steven Edward Butler of Nashville; a grandson, Ricky Turner of Bolivar; and a great grandchild, Kayleigh Turner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Siler. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Gideons International.
