Royce Robertson

Royce Robertson of Iron City, TN was born July 1, 1940 in Florence, AL, the son of the late Buddy Ardell and Birdie Chandler Robertson. He was united in marriage to Shirley Stooksberry on December 11, 1961. Mr. Robertson was a retired truck driver with Craig Construction, served in the United States Air Force and attended Millrock Freewill Baptist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee.

Mr. Robertson departed this life on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at his home at the age of 74 Years, 11 Months, 12 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Robertson of Iron City, TN; a son, Roger Robertson and wife, Joyce of Florence, AL; daughters, Renee Robertson Steele and husband, Phillip of Madison, AL, Rachel Robertson Brien and husband, Fred of Madison, AL, Brenda Dudley and husband, Ronnie of Gurley, AL; grandchildren, Brittany Steele, Chris Robertson, Ashely Robertson, Jessica Steele, A. J. Brien, Will Robertson, Jonathan Smith and Joseph Dudley; a brother, Doyce Robertson of Florence, AL; sisters, Barbara Hannah and husband, Ronnie of Killen, AL, Edith Smith, Linda Lovelace and husband, Ronnie and Doris Neese and husband, Ricky all of Florence, AL; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Colinwood, Tennessee, with Junior Overstreet and Tim Hanback officiating. Burial will follow in Railroad Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Odell Borden, Michael Hayes, Wayne Lovelace, Ron Hannah, Michael Lovelace and Davey Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Robertson, A. J. Brien and Will Robertson.

Visitation will be Monday, June 15, 2015 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 2 pm to service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given to the Volunteer Hospice, Waynesboro, TN or the Cancer Society.
