Ruby L. Pounds

Ruby Lee Thornton Pounds, 93, of Stantonville, TN, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Cornerstone in Corinth. She was born on February 11, 1921, to Noonan A. and Belle Thornton in Prentiss County, MS. She is survived by a daughter, Sammie Kaye Green and husband David of Corinth, MS, a son, Donald Leonard Pounds of Stantonville, TN, one grandchild, David Christopher Green and wife Windy, and two great grandchildren, Alexis Grace Green and Samuel David Green, and a brother, Prentiss D. Thornton, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Pounds, a son, Danny Joe Pounds, brothers and sisters, Lester Thornton, Marlis Thornton and N. A. Thornton, Alvie Hall, Estelle Pharr and Mattie Franks. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014, at 11 a.m., with Bro. Matt Cook officiating, all held at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer, TN.
