Mrs. Tackett, departed this life Friday afternoon, September 29, 2017 at Pine Meadows Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Bolivar.
She was born in McNairy County on Thursday, September 10, 1925 to the late E. D. and Blanche Russell Matlock. She lived in McNairy County prior to moving to Hardeman County in the 1980s. She was united in marriage to Mr. G. V. Tackett, who preceded her in death.
She worked as a homemaker, but in the past she also worked as a machine operator for Kilgore for eight years, and as a housekeeper at Western Mental Health Institute for fifteen years. She attended the First Baptist Church in Middleton. Her family states that she had a "green thumb" and loved gardening. She also enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.
Suvivors include her twin daughters, Faye Tomlinson of Middleton, and Kaye Herda of Cincinnati, Ohio; granddaugters, Emily McAnally and Beth Smith; and grandsons, Jim Isbell and Andy Isbell; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Kaitlyn Smith, Christina, James and Magdline Isbell; and step-grandchildren, Libby Conrath, Jean Sullivan and Billy Lynn Tomlinson.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Foster; and brothers, Jack Matlock and L. T. Matlock.
