SAMMY ROSS
Beech Bluff, TN: Sammy Joe Ross age 69 passed away Thursday September 4, 2014 at his home.
He was born March 7, 1945 in Henderson County, the son of the late Willie Pearl and Willie Leona Johnson Ross. He attended school in Henderson County and was married to Linda Coleman May 24, 1968. They made their home at Mifflin. He worked at many different jobs and was well remembered for operating Hill Top Grocery Store for nine years. He enjoyed playing golf with his family and spending time with his grandchildren and going on vacation to the beach. He was a member of the Mason Wells Church.
Mr. Ross is survived by his wife, Linda Coleman Ross and three daughters, Angie Adams and husband Jeff of Henderson, Amy Williams and husband Kenneth of Mifflin and Andrea Hornsby and husband Donny of Mifflin; four grandchildren, Jacob Williams, Autumn Hutchison, Jasmine Williams and Aubrey Hornsby; two step grandchildren, Amber Adams and Meredith Adams; two brothers, Junior Ross and Randy Ross both of Henderson and a sister, Faye Johnson of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bill Ross and a sister, Margaret Fiddler.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Mike Kelley and Randy Ross officiating and burial will follow in Mifflin Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday
